See The Specifications Of The New Samsung Galaxy A80
Samsung the famous, South Korean company just announced some new sleek smartphones: the Samsung Galaxy A70 & A80. Samsung surprised its audience at the launch event in Bangkok Thailand with the announcement of the Galaxy A70 and the A80. The Galaxy A70 and Galaxy A80 are both great devices, but the A80 comes with a cool rotating camera feature. This post also includes some of my concerns with the Samsung Galaxy A80. The Samsung Galaxy A70 was released in April 2019 while the Samsung Galaxy A80 was released in May 2019.
There’s no doubt that the Samsung Galaxy A80 is a great smartphone but, I have some concerns considering that this is a mid-range smartphone. Before I get into that, let’s take a look at the key specifications of the Samsung Galaxy A80.
Samsung has one of the best screens/displays in the market today, and the Samsung Galaxy A80 does not fall short of this. The Samsung Galaxy A80 features a 6.70-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The smartphone comes with a bezel-less, full-frontal glass, edge-to-edge infinity display. There’s no sight of a notch or a hole-punch in the phone’s display because t
Samsung devices have been known to have some of the best camera quality in the smartphone market. Samsung impressed its audience with the sliding and rotating (front and back) camera mechanism of the Galaxy A80. The Samsung Galaxy A80 features a triple camera consisting of a main 48-megapixel f/2.0 camera, a second 8-megapixel f/2.2 camera and a third TOF 3D camera.
The Samsung Galaxy A80 runs One UI based on Android 9.0 Pie and packs 128GB of inbuilt storage with 8GB RAM. Furthermore, the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 chipset with Octa-core (2×2.2 GHz Kryo 460 Gold & 6×1.7 GHz Kryo 460 Silver) and Adreno 618 GPU.
The Samsung Galaxy A80 comes with a sleek, techy and elegant design. The smartphone measures 165.20 x 76.50 x 9.30mm (height x width x thickness) . Launched in Angel Gold, Ghost White, and Phantom Black colours. It bears a front/back glass, aluminium frame body. The Samsung Galaxy A80 also comes with a single SIM or dual SIM setup.
The Samsung Galaxy A80 comes with a non-removable Li-Po 3700 mAh fast charging (25W) battery.

These include the Samsung Galaxy A80 concerns.
I’m most concerned about the build quality, price, and the absence of the 3mm headphone jack. Also, will the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 come without the 3.5mm headphone jack and feature a rotating camera?
A smartphone like the A80 with a sliding and rotating camera mechanism can turn out to be fragile and may later be faulty. Considering this is a mid-range device, how durable is the body build and camera mechanism?
Samsung also decided to not include the 3.5mm headphone jack in the Samsung Galaxy A80. It looks like Samsung is joining smartphone companies in removing the 3.5mm headphone jack from new smartphones. I mean, even the flagship Samsung Galaxy S10 series have the 3.5mm headphone jack. It could be that Samsung wants to introduce newer smartphones with no 3.5mm headphone jack.
It begs to question if the Note 10 that’ll be launched later this year will also follow suit the A80 with a rotating camera and no 3mm headphone jack.
Another concern is the price. It can be quite odd that the prices of Samsung midrange devices cost almost as much as their flagships. We know that Samsung smartphones are great but, it’ll also be nice if their mid-range devices are not as expensive as their flagships. Especially for people in Nigeria.
Well, those are my thoughts. What do you think about this device? Do you have something to add? Leave a comment below.
